Trump is found wanting

Trump was tried by a jury of his peers, and was found wanting. Thirty four times. Trump, of course,  predictably began squawking that the trial was “political” and “rigged” as he continues his slow march to undermine the legitimacy of the rule of law, conveniently and deliberately forgetting that he was found guilty by a jury of  American citizens who were randomly selected from voter registration lists.  There were upwards of 200 potential jurors brought in, all of whom were questioned by the judge and BOTH Trump’s attorneys and the prosecution (voir dire). Potential jurors were asked about their backgrounds and about whether they can be fair and impartial. Both sides could exclude potential jurors without giving a reason. It took several days for a jury to be seated - jurors that both sides agreed were suitable.  It was this group of jurors - deemed suitable by all- who heard the evidence, weighed the evidence, and who judged Trump to be guilty on all counts. Not Biden. Not Merchan. Not Bragg. A jury of his peers. Trump was also found wanting in his defamation lawsuit, found guilty by another American jury of his peers. In that case as well, Trump and his supporters immediately, speciously decried the result as rigged. This shameful and shameless denunciation comes as no surprise since when being judged by his equals, Trump is 0 for 2. 0 for 2.5 if one considers that back in August  a grand jury of 23 randomly selected American citizens in Georgia deemed that there was enough evidence of election interference to bring charges against Trump.  In these three cases, the legal system included regular everyday American citizens who looked at evidence and made a judgment based on that evidence and the law.  Instead of accepting the results, Trump is determined to reject, defame, and delegitimize any outcome that is not in his favor. These jurors showed  courage and loyalty to the Constitution and to the rule of law. The same cannot be said of this former president who would be king.

I don't care about you.
